My apartment was bought in 2013, when I decided I want to live in Porto – Portugal, after I have signed my permanent job post contract in this city. It is a two bedroom, one living room, kitchen, two bathrooms, small office and 2 balconies. I have made several works since 2013, and the apartment went a full reshuffle to looks the way it looks today.

The building has more than 40 years, and my apartment is in the 2nd floor.  It has two fronts, one facing one of the busiest streets in the city, with a lot of traffic all day, but also a lot of people walking, shops, cafes, gym, medical clinics, offices and small commercial galleries. The backs are much calmer, it is possible to see a small green space, terraces of other apartments, backs of other houses, and it feels like a small common space from neighbours there. On the ground floor of the building there is a delicious confectionery, where it is possible to have coffee and eat the so-called "Bola de Berlim". It is situated just 500 m from the nearest metro station.

The kitchen has been fully restyling last year. I choose white furniture, and contrast with black granite in the walls and on the counter. The other walls are all filled with Portuguese ceramics in a standard arrangement. As you can see, white is my election colour, as it is easy to conjugate and you will only need small key objects to change the environment or give a personal touch.

The living and dinner rooms are a kind of 2 in 1, sharing the same space with just the furniture saying where you are. Once again, white is the colour you will see, on the walls, on the table and in the living room furniture. The couch is small enough to fit in the space, but comfortable enough to relax watching TV, or working on a PC, reading a book, or just dozing. I am still filing my belongings, which means books, old cameras and small objects from my travels in the squares, but I just think it will be a kind of itinerant exposition, changing every time I went to a new travel adventure.

In the back balcony of my apartment, that is happily visited almost every day by the sun, I have a small hood table and two chairs. During summer I used to dinner here, when the sun goes down, and drink a fresh mojito or gin at the end of a day with my boyfriend. I can also turn on a candle, buy some sushi, and enjoy my place!
